On Sunday 17 June 2007 I went with Father Manfred and people from „House of Friendship” to Ainu Museum Sapporo Pirka Kotan. We were going by a small bus.

We could see religous ceremonies in Ainu cottage. Ainu people are animists: they worship several gods who govern nature: rivers, sea, forest, mountains etc. Some animals are also worshipped - especially a bear and recently a snake. Gods are offered rice beer and special willow sticks. After the ceremonies inside the cottage, selected men are going outside to make offerings to the consecutive gods.

we could see some Ainu dansings by women, men, children and young people. I was impressed by the dance with swords. In the end, everyone could dance with Ainu people.
