My guides in Tokyo were Alberto Basile from Italy and Junji Kotani from Japan. You can see them on some photos.
The surroundings of Musashi Institute of Technology where the 53rd Spring Meeting of Japanese Society of Applied Physics took place (I attended this meeting). There was still snow in Sapporo and cherry trees started to bloom in Tokyo. In photo 3, there are bushes similar to heather (the Polish name of September „wrzesień” comes from the Polish name of the heather „wrzos” because the heather blooms in September). You can see the magnification in photo 4. In photo 5, there is the bulding where poster sessions and meals were held.
Shibuya is a crowded district which is full of young Japanese people and foreigners in the evening.
Our accomodation was traditional Japanese inn so-called ryokan. Its name is Kangetsu.
Meiji Jingu Shrine (Shinto shrine). The barrels for sake (photo 11). Ritual cleansing of hands and mouth (photos 15-17). Votive tablets for personal prayers and gratitude towards the deities (photo 18). We could see a part of the wedding ceremony (photo 20).
The building of Tokyo Metropolitan Government and its surroundings in Shinjuku district.
Some views from windows on the 45th floor. If the visibility is good, one can see Mount Fuji on the horizon (photo 28) but we could not see this famous mountain that day unfortunately.
We were going towards Imperial Gardens from Tokyo Station which was built in 1914 (photo 29). You can see that Tokyo is still developing (photo 31)...
The Imperial Gardens. You can see the building of the Japanese Parliament (with the pointed roof) on photo 37.
